Trump restores biological reality

Over the past year, the radical gender ideology sweeping through institutions and culture has started to recede.

The UK and countries in Europe have started to roll back the experimental and dangerous medical treatments given to children and teenagers confused about their identity.

And now, with Donald Trump returning to the Presidency, the United States  has joined this trend, signalling that a return to a common sense approach is gaining momentum.

President Trump signed an Executive Order on the first day of his second term that recognises two sexes which are “not changeable and are grounded in fundamental and incontrovertible reality”.

The order requires official government forms and communications to no longer refer to “gender”. Instead, the biological reality of male and female will be affirmed.

In contrast to the US and Europe, Australia’s inaction on this issue looks even more backwards and out of step.

For Australian teenagers such as “Ash” and “Kelly” Australian Courts continue to approve puberty blockers for minors.

This is happening even as judges  acknowledge “real risks” and no certainty of benefit from the treatments.

Dr Jillian Spencer’s decision to pursue holistic treatment of children without automatically affirming their transgender identity has been vindicated by the developments overseas.

And the case of “Billboard Chris” demonstrates the importance of free speech in challenging these issues. Freedom to speak the truth without government censorship is essential to public debate.

The pervasiveness of “gender” ideology in government and academia is only being challenged because of the courage of people like Dr Spencer and Billboard Chris to speak out against them, often at great cost to themselves. But the signs from other parts of the world indicate that this courage is rewarded.

HRLA will continue to work with everyday people like Dr Spencer and Billboard Chris to defend freedom of speech for all Australians.
