SUPPORT LEGAL DEFENCE FOR JASMINE SUSSEX
Jasmine Sussex is a local mum and a passionate breastfeeding advocate with 15 years experience.
But she’s now facing legal action because she said publicly that she doesn’t believe that men can breastfeed.
When a trans-identifying man shared a newspaper article on social media about “breastfeeding” his newborn, Jasmine couldn’t help but speak up, expressing the simple truth that “only mother’s breastfeed”.
Jasmine found herself being penalised for speaking up.
The Australian Breastfeeding Association sacked her as a volunteer after receiving complaints.
Then the eSafety Commissioner ordered the take-down of Jasmine’s posts.
She is now facing a claim of vilification under the Queensland Anti-Discrimination Act – a claim by a man claiming to be a “mother” that her advocacy for mothers incites hatred, contempt and severe ridicule.
HRLA is representing Jasmine as she defends herself against this claim.
A landmark win in Jasmine’s case will help to protect the rights of all Australians to share their beliefs publicly without fear of legal action.
Your generous support today will help HRLA represent Jasmine and defend her fundamental freedom rights.
Yours sincerely,
