Sign the Religious Freedom Open Letter to Australia’s Attorneys-General

There’s a rising hostility towards people of faith in Australia. Discrimination against Christians is getting worse.

Expressing beliefs that were mainstream just a generation ago now leads to public derision, pressure at university, and even the loss of employment.

While successive governments of all persuasions have failed to protect Australians of faith, the Standing Council of Attorneys-General has the power to address religious discrimination head on.

But so far religious freedom is not on the agenda.

In fact, the situation facing Christians just got worse with proposals from the Australian Law Reform Commission that would remove existing protections from faith-based schools.

Tell our political leaders you want action by signing this open letter now, urging Australia’s Attorneys-General to take action now to protect religious freedom.

To the Standing Council of Attorneys-General,

I urge you to address the increasing discrimination faced by all people of faith in Australia.

It’s crucial that our laws are reformed to ensure that all Australians, regardless of their faith, can publicly express their beliefs without fear of persecution or discrimination.

Religious freedom must be protected as a fundamental human right.

This issue has become even more urgent with recent proposals from the Australian Law Reform Commission’s Consultation Paper calling for the removal of existing protections for faith-based schools.

The Standing Council of Attorneys-General has a unique opportunity to take a stand on this important human rights matter.

I implore you to act on behalf of all Australians, regardless of their faith, by protecting their right to practise and express their beliefs.
