An ordinary Australian sacked for his faith
My name is Matthew Squires. I am an ordinary Australian and a man of faith.
Last year, my life was turned upside down. Old Facebook posts where I expressed my beliefs and political opinions were uncovered. Within days, I was attacked in the media, disendorsed as a candidate, and then sacked without notice by my employer, Avant – one of the largest medical insurers in Australia.
I felt humiliated, powerless, and afraid for my family. But instead of giving up, I chose to fight.
With the help of HRLA, I have filed a case under the Fair Work Act. This case will decide whether Australians can be fired for their lawful opinions shared outside work.
We aim to raise $75,000 to keep this case alive. Will you stand with me today and defend freedom for all Australians?
Yours sincerely,

Matthew Squires
